Sexualised violence does not happen by chance – it is planned by perpetrators. Therefore, the protection of children, adolescents, and young adults must also be carefully planned to effectively minimise the risk of sexualised violence within our organisation’s activities.
As a Catholic organisation dedicated to international youth encounters, we promote intercultural exchange based on the Christian view of humanity. We aim to support the personal development of young people and encourage their participation in society and politics. In doing so, we recognise our special responsibility to protect them from sexualised violence.
Our safeguarding policy provides clear guidance and a sense of security – for participants as well as for our full-time and volunteer staff.
The safeguarding policy includes:
- the mission statement of the Ludwig Wolker Association
- measures for the prevention, management, and follow-up of sexualised violence
- a binding Code of Conduct
- a joint safeguarding declaration
- a clear procedure for dealing with suspected or confirmed cases of sexualised violence
The safeguarding policy and Code of Conduct are available in both German and English. In all our projects, we strive to work in partnership and on equal terms with our international partners. This also includes a shared understanding of mutual respect and agreed rules of conduct during our encounters.
