Ludwig Wolker Verein and Community Building Mitrovica invite young adults aged 18–25 to take part in a Kosovo–Germany youth exchange under the motto “Youth for Inclusive Communities.”
What does social cohesion mean in a diverse society? How can encounters, remembrance, and media help to break down prejudices?
In this Kosovo–German youth exchange project, you will meet young people from Berlin and Mitrovica to explore these questions together.
You will live and work together for one week in Berlin and one week in Mitrovica, immersing yourselves in two cities shaped in different ways by history, division, migration, and social change. Berlin stands for diversity, remembrance culture, and social engagement. Mitrovica remains one of the most visibly divided cities in Europe, while also being a place of dialogue, civil society initiatives, and a strong desire for mutual understanding.
At the heart of the project are inclusive communities. You will visit social initiatives, religious sites, and civil society actors committed to participation, solidarity, and social cohesion, and you will consciously engage with people you might not usually encounter in everyday life.
Another key focus is media and storytelling. In hands-on workshops, you will learn how to tell stories through film using simple tools. Working in mixed teams, you will create short media pieces and a joint documentary film that give personal perspectives on inclusion, history, and living together.
The project invites you to reflect on history, discover new perspectives, and experience community across borders.
